Here are pictures of a ‘Sneak Peek’ of the University of the Fraser Valley’s (UFV) new Mascot, “Sasqe’ts”, on the October 24, 2010 kick off for UFV men’s soccer games. Sts’ailes Chief Willie Charlie and the Sts’ailes Culture Committee worked in collaboration with the UFV Athletics Dept and the UFV Aboriginal Resource Centre on the name of the new mascot. “Sasqe’ts” is the traditional Halqe’meylem word for what is known today as “Sasquatch”. The official unveiling of Sasqe’ts is on October 30, 2010 at the Envision Athletic Centre located at the Abbotsford UFV Campus. Festivities are set to begin at 3:00pm.
